40 on Main is a self-catering holiday rental in Sandbaai, Hermanus. It was already doing well on Airbnb, and the owner wanted a website of her own where guests could see availability and get in touch directly. This is how that project came together.

40 on Main offers private self-catering units in a safe, friendly seaside village, a short walk from the beach. The owner has been hosting guests on Airbnb for years and has a strong track record of guest reviews.
The goal
- Give guests a home on the web that is under the host’s own name.
- Let guests see which nights are free without leaving the site.
- Make it easy to send a booking request or message on WhatsApp.
- Keep Airbnb and Booking.com bookings and the website calendar from clashing.
What we built
- A custom logo and a clean design that matches the feel of the place.
- A booking website with live availability. Guests pick dates on a calendar that syncs with the Airbnb and Booking.com calendars, so nights that are already booked show as unavailable.
- A clear call to action: “Check availability and book”, plus a Rates and facilities page.
- Trust up front. The host’s years on Airbnb, rating and review count sit near the top of the page.
- A WhatsApp chat button on every page, so a question is one tap away.
- Local SEO, so the site can be found by people searching for accommodation in Sandbaai and Hermanus.
